Guidance

University Guidance Program

At CAIS, the Secondary School (Grades 9-12) University Guidance program supports students’ career exploration and academic progress through the high school years and guides students towards career options and best-fit universities. This is accomplished through individual and group counseling, the Bridge U electronic platform, academic advising, career planning, and working with various teacher leaders and support services to ensure the best educational outcomes for all students.

The university guidance program is delivered through the advisory program, through the Grades 9 to 12 advisory program. The advisory program is geared to develop a four-year plan and knowledge base for students to develop their own academic storyline including extracurricular activities, CAS experiences, Duke of Edinburgh, internships, career investigations, and academic backgrounds which will allow students to attend their best-fit university or post-secondary opportunities. By the time students reach their senior year, they will be prepared and familiar with the different application processes required to attend global universities such as universities based in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Asia, and Europe.

The Bridge U platform allows students and the university counselor to keep track of all documents necessary for student applications. This software system can be accessed by students and families to add information as their profile develops, search for universities, track applications and track responses, as well as facilitate the timely sending of support documentation. Parents can access certain sections of their child's file to see their students' progress in the university application process.
